CHARACTER REVIEW: Superstripe

As per the guidelines listed in the Forum Rules:

If another member is harassing you, breaking character, or otherwise being a nuisance in the RP forums, please e-mail one one of the forum's moderators (you'll find their addresses listed in their profiles). The first report will result in a warning being issued to the offender. Any subsequent reports will result in the creation of a "Character Review" by a Moderator in the OOC Tavern. In this review, members are encouraged to voice their complaints with/defenses of the member in question's conduct while using said character. The moderator then has the option to let them off with another warning, ban the character from RPs, or ban the offending member from the forums.

Seems pretty open-and-shut to me. What say ye, folks - character ban or member ban?

Oh yeah, this guy is pretty bad. I remember a few weeks ago when we were setting up for the Darkflash invasion he kept making posts on the Abbey RP boards warning how we were going to be attacked. I think some of us actually ended up going along with it, just because the plot had lost so much momentum already, but it still was using a LOT of OOC knowledge. I say just ban SSJwhateverhisnameis and be done with it.

Well, he is pretty new to the forums, and he's clearly still learning the ropes of RPing. I say go easy on him, point him to a spell-checker and some RPing guides let him off with a warning. You should definitely ban the character, though, on the grounds that he makes next to no sense!

Kinda OT, but I thought it was really fun when people (myself included

) would stage IC discussions with the little hare sidekick - we always ended up making him sound terribly depressed about his line of work, LOL!

This is the OOC forum, SSJ5. Please act accordingly (and with civility). And try to keep in mind that I'm not really an Abbot, just a Moderator who plays one in the RP boards.

Maybe you should reread the Forum Rules and check out how things are done here.

Another excerpt of note, here's the post that RobGarrison forwarded to me when SSJ5 was first reported (from the Mossflower Woods RP board):

I know he's constantly killing off NPCs en masse in incredibly poorly-written ways. Let me dig out an example from the Darkflash invasion...

Hey guys, I'm actually the one who reported d00dkiD, though strangely enough it wasn't so much for his conduct in RPing as for his RPing in the Websites Forum. He kept posting about how he was looking for Redwall in there and even announced (in asterisks) that he had killed the owner of one particular club. That being said...

I may, in fact, know of one such example! While browsin' through the Mossflower Woods RP for the original thread with Garrison's death I stumbled upon this little gem:

In all fairness, your characters ARE pretty annoying.

Ooh, I can't believe nobody's mentioned this yet - a while back he claimed the spot of Salamandastron's badgerlord even though there was already another person who called it, another newbie named Greatbrock Swordhead or something. He had only been doing it for a couple of weeks, though, and ended up getting banned for doing some player-killing of his own (I think some wolves, back when wolf characters were a fad), so nobody really minded, I guess. Still, though...

Heh, if we really cared about promoting creativity, do you think we'd be on a forum for roleplaying in a knock-off of someone else's universe?

No, we've got to put keeping our world consistent before being creative, and a freak anomaly like your character has no place in that.

I think this review has gone on long enough. The punishment is character ban! Goodbye, Superstripe the Unrealistic - once and for all! Any further roleplaying using Superstripe, or any futher RP offenses, is ground for your banning from the forums, SSJD00dkiD.

Thanks Greg I'll totally put those in my fanfic (tentivaly titled QUEST FOR TEH BLADES OF STRENGHT) + they will all be SUPeR IMPORTANT CHARACTERS unliek how no1 would let us be tru awesomness in this DUBM RP BOARD, my story will not have dumb abbot like Abot Esomar, he is dumb liek internet-user FISHERMN, it will have abbot shuu and I hate hthat fisherfmanjeff FOREVER, FROM NOW ON AND FOR ALLTIEMS I HATE FISHEMANJEFF, I HATE FISHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/i]
