- Description: Wakizashi were
short Japanese swords between 30.3 and 60.6 cm. Shorter ones, between 36
and 40 cm, were called ko-wakizashi.
- Use: The wakizashi was
typically carried with the katana, though only samurai carried two swords.
Craftsmen and tradesmen would often carry a wakizashi in their obi (belt) but
were not allowed to carry the long katana.
