Trident

- In Redwall: Used by toads; also used
by many vermin at Sampetra.
- Time Period: Ancient Rome to late
medieval times.
- Origin: Everywhere that had hay and
polearms.
- Description:
The trident was based on the pitchfork. In fact, when not used as a
weapon, it often was employed as a pitchfork.
- Use: Thrusting only. It
was famous for its use in Roman gladiatorial arenas. It was used much like a
spear and could even be thrown like one in desperate situations.
