Redwall
- Redwall.org: The official Redwall
website. This site contains plenty of information on Brian Jacques.
- Redwall.net: Redwall.net has plenty
of information, but its most remarkable pages are the recipes page and the
links page.
- Starfire's Redwall
Abbey: This is an excellent Redwall info site.
- Fort Ruddler: Fort
Ruddler is a well-made Redwall club.
- Egburt the Scholar's
Molespeech Dictionary: An excellent site for those who have a hard
time understanding or writing molespeech. It's very well done and a massive
undertaking.
- Snowfur's Redwall
Encyclopedia: The Encyclopedia is a massive index of all the characters in
the Redwall series- even those hordebeasts who get their names mentioned only
once and then get killed right away.
- The
Redwall Listings: A huge list of Redwall links.
- Terrouge Magazine: Terrouge is an
excellent monthly Redwall online 'zine, with plenty of information and
many well-written articles. My only complaint is that they don't have an
archive of back issues.
- The Long Patrol:
The Long Patrol has a lot of general info about the series, as well as plenty
of Redwall news.
- The Redwall Links:
A sizeable list of Redwall links.
- Redwall Digest: A
very well-designed and quite well-written Redwall e-zine.
Weaponry
- House Brigatta's
Medieval Glossary and Information: Without this place, I wouldn't have
known that many of the weapons now in the Armory even existed.
They list many obscure weapons and give short definitions of most of them.
-
Archery in Medieval Times: An excellent index of many sites about archery
all over the world.
- The Castle
Armory: A nice site with summaries of various weapons.
- Hooking
the Sword: How to wear a sword on your belt. You don't wear
it point-back and hilt-front!
- Mediaeval Sword Resource Site:
A very useful site with lots of information, especially on sword
anatomy.
- The Traveler's Inn:
Several links to various medieval resources.
- Warfare, Weapons, and
Armor: A nicely organized site with links to the topics mentioned in the
title.
- There Is No Best Sword:
An in-depth article about the development of various swords. Quite
interesting; worth a read.
- Fencing Online: An
article about the history of fencing.
- Ethnographic
Edged Weapons Resource Site: A very nice weaponry resource with weapons
organized by origin. There are a few weapons here not included in the
Armory.
- Sword
Terminology: A site about various blades, terminology used for swords, and
the anatomy of swords.
-
Kathryn's Dueling Guide: A site about dueling with the rapier, saber, and
cutlass, written by the Director of Fencing Schools.
- Sword Forum International: The
site for anything to do with swords.
- The Weapons
Rack: An invaluable resource for information on and pictures of some of
the harder-to-find weapons.
- Fantasized
Adventures' Glossary of Weapons: A weapons glossary for a fantasy
role-playing game.
-
Gothic Arms: A nice site about various medieval weaponry and medieval
life. Requires Acrobat Reader.
- Historical Weapons: An
excellent site with many articles on weapons, as well as weapons for sell.
Very useful.
-
Non-Asian Fencing and Fighting Weapons: A slightly technical but still
useful article on non-Asian fighting styles and weapons.
- Arms and Armor in
the Late Medieval Age and Renaissance: An in-depth site on precisely what
the title proclaims.
- The Complete Fencing Master:
A fencing manual written in 1692. Very interesting and extremely
in depth, if somewhat heavy reading.
- Weapons
of the Heraldic Age: A wonderful, well-designed, attractive site on
mostly Irish weapons.
- Old
Sword-Play: A great site with explanations of fighting styles from the
eighteenth century.
-
History of Sword Styles and Uses: Precisely what the title says.
Very informative.
- The Secret History of the Sword:
Fascinating and in-depth.
- Training Program
Structure: Tons of information on using blades, even longswords.
Excellent.
Japanese Swords
- Sword.ne.jp: A great site on Japanese
swords, as long as you can get past the imperfect English.
- Japanese
Sword Visual Glossary: An excellent Japanese sword resource.
Includes definitions and anatomy.
- Richard
Stein's Japanese Sword Index: Marvelous. I doubt you'll find
a better resource on everything having to do with Japanese swords.
Includes glossaries, clubs, history, care, translating signatures, military
swords, swordsmith indexes, articles, polishing, forging, and various other
links.
